THINGS TO DO IN TOKYO
On my second visit to Tokyo, I was just as excited if not more to go back again! There are many things to do in Tokyo but here is a few to get you started:
- Tokyo Robot restaurant I can’t say I’ve ever had an experience quiet like this before and it’s hard to describe it in writing. The show is a crazy mix of anime, laser lights, Liberace, robots and anything else over the top! Don’t expect much from the food, it’s more a show than a restaurant as the name suggests.
- Ueno Park was a great place to visit because of the beautiful parks, museums and shrines. For a full list of things to do see: http://www.japan-talk.com/jt/new/ueno-park-in-tokyo
- Since I’m not the typical size 2 Japanese frame, I struggled a fair bit with clothing in Tokyo. That’s not to say that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy trying on some cutesy outfits in Shibuya 109!! I found Ginza to be a great place to shop for upmarket brands & the department stores are sensational. Aside from a huge selection of international brands (above a size 2), the stores also range the best of local Japanese brands.
- After the colder winter months comes spring and the arrival of The Cherry Blossom festival. In Tokyo the festival commences around early April and last’s for around two weeks. There are many places to admire the stunning trees but my favourite was Ueno Park & Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.
